Holistic hustling has definitely evolved over the years. The first version was “…an approach to the industry that centers our health and well-being, our experience, and prioritizes us, the entertainer.”
Although the development of holistic hustling began in 2020, my first chance to test my new theory in real world circumstances was in the spring of 2021. A few things became clear: I was over exerting myself, not getting enough vital nutrients, and wearing heels full time was setting back my progress.
As I recovered from injuries sustained from over exertion, I was forced to integrate even more recovery time and corrective exercises than before I became injured. I consciously integrated intentional compound movements that targeted the areas I was trying to correct and condition. I spent a lot of time on my foam roller and lacrosse ball. I did more mobility exercises and yoga than weight lifting.
By the end of 2022, I was able to begin lifting more, but very quickly adopted a hybrid training routine, a daily practice. I found that I prefer to give my body what it needs that day, and to think of my training as a practice. This is especially helpful when my earnings are unpredictable, making my work schedule more demanding. I am able to let go of rigidity, and focus on the task at hand.
This type of flexibility is very important for strippers for many reasons; disabilities, family obligations, injuries, erratic earnings, or traveling without access to certain equipment to name a few. Holistic hustling is even helpful for career strippers who are single with no obligations, steady or high income, and no disabilities. My cycle impacts my energy, even when all other factors are favorable, so there is flexibility for that as well.
Like anything, I am sure that this concept will continue to evolve, but I am so excited to share what i have so far with all of you!
Happy hustling babes!
